Privacy Policy
Who we are: Shield Corporate Security (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides security services including onsite guarding, mobile patrols, alarm response, and CCTV monitoring. We are committed to protecting personal information.
Scope: This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and, where applicable in Victoria, the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). Where we handle health information (e.g., incident injury details), we comply with the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) (HPPs).

- Identification and contact details; employment details for client contacts; site access logs.
- CCTV imagery and security incident data (including descriptions of individuals, vehicles, and events).
- Device/usage data (cookies, analytics).
- Sensitive information only with consent or where required/authorised by law (e.g., police report references, prohibited item logs).
- How we collect information
- Directly from you (forms, email, phone); in the course of providing services; from CCTV systems we operate on behalf of clients; from lawful third parties (e.g., law enforcement) where permitted.
- Purposes of collection
- Providing security services; monitoring and responding to incidents; compliance and reporting; client account management; improving our services; legal obligations.
- CCTV and audio policy
- Where we control cameras or other surveillance devices, we implement signage, access controls, retention limits, and audit trails. Audio recording is not used unless explicitly required and legally permitted. Individuals may have rights to request access to footage that reasonably identifies them, subject to exemptions and third‑party privacy.
- Legal bases/authorities
- We collect and handle personal information with consent, to perform a contract, in our legitimate security interests, or as required/authorised by law (including the Surveillance Devices Act 1999 (Vic) and Private Security Act 2004 (Vic)).
- Marketing
- We only send electronic direct marketing with consent or as otherwise permitted. All messages include a functional unsubscribe. See also our Spam Act statement below.
- Types of information we collect
- Disclosure
- To clients (for whom we provide services), service providers (hosting, communications), insurers, legal advisers, regulators, and law enforcement where required/authorised.
- Overseas disclosure: If we use cloud services or providers located outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure APP‑comparable protections. [Insert countries if known].
